Try it Tuesday- Pahlish Bespoke Batch White Hot

I was enticed by Pahlish's Bespoke Batch polish, White Hot. I knew it wouldn't look good on me, white polishes don't, but I love them :).

This is 3 coats. There also was some kind of purple pigment in it that showed up as kind of a splotches- but I didn't notice it until I wore the polish for a day or so.

Here is a close up of the polish, you can see the kind of iridescent quality it has.

And one more - and I did like that this polish didn't make my hands look toooo lobster-y.

Pahlish is a great brand, I totally recommend them!

Try it Tuesday- Colors by Llarowe Marilyn the Legend

This was a Polish Pickup polish from August 2017, the theme was Old Hollywood, and of course the inspiration was Marilyn Monroe.

This was a fine polish, but really nothing super special, if I'm honest. It's a pretty pink holographic polish. It was good in 2 coats.

I do love Marilyn Monroe, and I do love a good pink polish, and this was a good pink polish. Not too crazy, but good holo and a pretty color.

This is in the sun where it shows more pink. I didn't catch the holo, though.

Live your life with love in your hearts and glitter on your nails!

Try it Tuesday- Tonic Happenstance and Bauble

I bought 2 of the OG Unicorn Pee polishes with flakies from Tonic when they came out in February, 2018.

First up is Tonic Happenstance. This is a "sister" polish to Tonic's Serendipity- Happenstance is Serendipity with flakies in it. It's purple with Unicorn Pee and iridescent flakies. I do have Serendipity, but haven't used it yet!!

This is 3 coats. With polishes that have flakies in them, I generally do 3 coats just to build up the jelly base and the depth of the flakies.

This one on the left was taken in the sunshine. I did get a little bit of tip wear, but I find I do get that sometimes with jelly polishes.

Here is a little bit of a close up, you can see the flakies.

One more of Happenstance in the sun.

Next is Bauble, the UP flakie version of their UP polish Curio. I did not pick up Curio when it was offered, and am totally bummed. If it's ever offered again, or I see it in a destash for a reasonable price, I will definitely pick it up!  This is a blurple, where Happenstance is more of a red-based purple.

Again with 3 coats. I love this color, and the formulas on both of these were amazing, no issues at all, and great jelly base build up in the 3 coats.

These UP polishes really do have such a pretty glow about them.

I didn't do a super close up of this one, but you can see the flakies in these pictures.

Tonic always has great polishes, and great formulas.  I appreciate that for the most part, they have their polishes available so you don't need ninja fingers to buy their polishes.

Try it Tuesday- Dam Polish Sul-tree Smile

I belong to the Holo-maniacs Facebook group, and this polish, Dam Polish Sul-tree Smile, was the group custom for February 2018.

I had never tried this brand of polish, but it was sooooo beautiful I couldn't pass it up! And their shipping time was super fast!

I did 3 coats (I am a habitual 3 coater with most polishes, unless it reallllly is opaque, and with glittery polishes I usually do 3 coats because of vnl).

The deeper pink color really showed up in the sunlight, it really was gorgeous!

Here's a close up of the polish, you can see  the bigger glitters with the holo hex glitters, it made it a really interesting polish.

I was impressed! The formula was great, and it was a really pretty polish.

Try it Tuesday- Pahlish 1001 Flowers

This is such a pretty polish! Shannon from Pahlish made this when her Facebook group. Pahlish Lovers, reached 1000 members.

Look at this polish! The sparkle is gorgeous, and the blurple color is beautiful!

This was opaque in 2 coats, though I did do a little dabbing on my tips, just for opacity.

It's so sparkly!

This is a really neat polish. Here's a macro.

And one more!!!  This was a limited edition polish, but you may be able to score it in a destash at some point (though I'm sure not giving mine up! LOL).

Live your life with love in your hearts and glitter on your nails!

Try it Tuesday- Picture Polish Jewels

I got a couple of Picture Polish polishes from color4nails, and finally wore one! This is Jewels, when I saw Jessface90 on YouTube swatch this, I knew I'd found a Picture Polish I had to have (this one and London).

Here is Jessface90's video, I highly recommend subscribing to her channel if you don't already (she also is the maker of Nine Zero Lacquer).

This was a super easy 2 coats, which I was surprised at- sometimes polishes like this need 3 coats, but not this one!

This picture was in the sun, you can see the sparkle!

And here's one more picture. I didn't do a close up of this, I guess, but it isn't too silver flakey if you know what I mean- sometimes polishes are pretty, but you see the silver flakes almost too much- but this isn't like that at all. It really does glow!

I now own a few Picture Polishes, the 2 I got from color4nails, and then I found a couple from destashes. They are on the expensive side for a polish, so I'm not going to collect them all, but so far, so good!

Try it Tuesday- Tonic Lemons and Cream

I am not usually a fan of yellow polishes, but I saw this in their Secrets and Soulmates collection that came out in November 2017 and I just had to have it!

This is a gorgeous polish! This is under my lights, it looks super bright here.

I did 3 coats and still could see a little vnl (visible nail line), and I didn't think adding another coat would help, and it was really minimal anyways.

These two pictures are under my lights.

I love that in some lights you can really catch the reddish shimmer in the polish. Here's a macro.

Here are a couple pictures in the sunlight.  It looks a little lighter under the sun.

And one more. It really is a cool polish, and I just kept looking at my nails!

I did get a lot of compliments.

Watch out, this is a stainer. I always wear Nailtiques 2, and Orly Bonder as a base coat, and it still stained. I don't really care about that, but if you care, then be forewarned!

Try it Tuesday- Cupcake Polish Eleanor

I love black polishes, and I picked up this one from a destash, I think. It's Cupcake Polish Eleanor.

It's a pretty basic black holo. The formula was a little thick, but not unmanageable.

Here's a sunlight picture, I tried to capture the holo, but it's actually a pretty subtle holo, which is fine, you can't have all in your face rainbows all the time! LOL

Here's one more picture, it's just a good basic black subtle holo polish.

I did do 2 coats just for full coverage.

I like Cupcake Polish polishes, I did get Berry Good Looking in 2016 when that was the top polish of that year and love that. This one I like, it's not my fave, but I love black polish in all ways!

Try it Tuesday- Octopus Party Nail Lacquer- Stoneheart

I'd been wanting to try this brand because of the name, but hadn't seen anything in destashes that I had to have, and nothing on their Etsy page. Then it was announced in late 2017 that they (I believe it is actually a guy name Dave) were no longer going to be making polish. That is a bummer.

Then I found several OPNLs in destashes that I loved, and one of them was this one. This was from the Game of Thrones trio that was out in early 2017.

This is such a pretty polish! I love this color, and the formula was so easy. 2 pretty coats, and done! This picture and the next were done under my lights.

But then, BAM!! Sunlight really makes this polish come alive!

Do you see this gorgeousness? The sunlight really brings out the pink.

The shimmer is subtle, but it really makes this polish something special.   Sorry for making this so big, but it's sooooooo pretty, I just had to! Here's another sunlight picture.

Sigh, this is gorgeous.  I don't know how hard this would be to find, but if you like this color, you'll love this polish!

Try it Tuesday- Glam Polish Brittanica- plus stamping!

In honor of Glam coming back (she had a preemie baby, who is home now!), I wanted to wear a Glam! I saw this polish, and had to have it- it's soooo bright! And purple!!!

Here it is by itself, such a great color!  Easy 2 coat formula.

Another picture, because it's soooo pretty!!

Wait! Here's one more!! LOL

Then I added stamping. I used the Bundle Monster Ella and Ish place, and the Lantern and Wren clear jelly stamper that I got from the March Polish Pickup- but I think you can get it on their site.

It was a dream to stamp with the stamper, and the plate was great! I used Powder Perfect light pink stamping polish, though it is realllly light, so it looks white.

Here's a closer look at the stamping, because I did it, lol.

And a macro of the polish, I love seeing the polishes close up like this!

Live your life with love in your hearts and glitter on your nails!!

Try it Tuesday- Tonic Helpless, my first magnetic polish!

Tonic Helpless is the first magnetic polish I've tried. It was pretty easy to work with, and I loved the effect!

I painted 1 thin coat, didn't do the magnet, then a thick second coat and held the magnet at an angle for 10-15 seconds. I top coated with Seche Vite, and held the magnet over it again since I heard that the top coat can kind of re-liquify the polish and smoosh out the magnetic effect.

This is so cool! I love the darker blue contrasted with the lighter blue line!

I got one of those gray art erasers and used it as a handle for the magnet, so I could get it as close to it as possible. I did use the magnet I bought from Tonic, one of the strong neodymium magnets that make the cool lines. It was $2.

The formula was easy to work with- it was easy to do a thin first coat, and the thicker second coat wasn't hard to control. This also didn't stain my nails (I do use Nailtiques 2 and then Orly Bonder as a base coat).

Here's a close up of one of my nails.

Of course Tonic is super hyped, but I do think it's deserved- they have a quality product, and their customer service is amazing.

If you're not part of the Tonic Facebook group, you should join if you're into that sort of thing, there's heads up on new releases and sneak peaks.

Try it Tuesday- Vapid Disambiguation (on a Wednesday because I forgot yesterday!)

I work in Career Services in a University, and yesterday and today were big career fairs, and I forgot to post because I was running around!!!

I like thermal polishes, and since my nails are medium length, I get a nice transition usually!

Vapid does great thermals, so I knew this would be a good one, and it's super pretty! Teal (warm) to purple (cool) thermal. It seemed very sensitive to temperature change on me, which I like.

It also has a gorgeous shimmer throughout it, which adds to how pretty it is! I did 3 coats, but I really think you could get away with 2.

These first two pictures I forced a transition with hot water- it was so so cold where I do my nails! It's March in North Carolina, and it's freezing (like, literally 32 degrees last night!!!).

This picture shows a not forced transition- it looks like a gradient!

Here's another with a more natural transition.

Oh, and while you're shopping for polish on their website, check out their face and body products (and nail sauce!). Their body stick (like a stick lotion) has done wonders for my dry icky heels!!!

Live your life with love in your hearts and glitter on your nails!

Try it Tuesday- Pahlish Bespoke Batch White Hot

I was enticed by Pahlish's Bespoke Batch polish, White Hot. I knew it wouldn't look good on me, white polishes don't, but I lov...
