Mainstream Mani Monday- OPI In the Cable Carpool Lane

This is soooo pretty in the bottle, soooo streaky on the nail!

It's a deep red/burgundy- I wouldn't say oxblood, I consider oxblood to be a darker color, but a pretty deep red - but man, super streaky!!

This is 3 thin coats, still not great.

Some of what you see is lights reflecting off my nails, so I did a macro which shows the streakiness. 

You can see here the lighter spots- that's the streakiness. 

Oh well, you can't win them all. Pretty color, icky formula.

Mainstream Mani Monday- OPI Wild West Wild Berry

I have no idea where this polish came from and why I have it! This is OPIs Wild West Wild Berry, from their 1999 Wild West collection.  I had to add a bunch of thinner to it, so the formula was kind of lumpy in the beginning, lol.

It's a pretty mid tone pink with shimmer- but not frosty at all. It's a nice color, and I like it on my skin tone.

It did bring out some ridges in my nails I didn't know I had, lol. I think that was really just the formula.


It was good in 2 coats, and the top coat brought out the shimmer in the polish.





Here's an up close shot where you can really see the ridges, that I swear don't exist irl!

I doubt you can find this polish in the wild- I did find it on ebay for $12.99.

Mainstream Mani Monday OPI DS Indulgence

Kickin' it Old School- an OPI! A DS OPI!!  DS is their Designer Series (they have the silver caps).

This is a beautiful red-orange polish. I got this in a Skyline Beauty sale, all their older OPIs were $3. So I got a ton, and this was one of them.



It was opaque in 2-3 coats. I really like this polish, especially for fall.

2017 SPAMALAMA! Nail Mail! Skyline Beauty OPI $3 sale!

If you haven't checked out Skyline Beauty Supply, it's a cool site!

They have brands like OPI, China Glaze, Essie, Color Club, Morgan Taylor, Orly and more. Shipping is free over $30, and only $3.50 under $30.  They also have acrylic nail supplies, nail art supplies, equipment, gel stuff, lots of fun things!

They had a $3 sale on some old OPIs, so I got 11! Because of course I did!!!  I got 6 of their DS (Designer Series) polishes, then 4 new to me OPIs, and 1 backup bottle of Pirouette My Whistle, because it was $3 and I love that polish!

Mainstream Mani Monday OPI Espresso Your Style

In the spirit of trying more mainstream polish this year, I'm going to do a mani with a mainstream brand on Mondays!

These will just be manis done with mainstream polishes in my collection- OPI, China Glaze, Zoya, Morgan Taylor, Sally Hansen, etc. I usually get them from Sally's, when they have the 50%  off clearance I always try to pick up a few!! I rarely pay full price for OPI and China Glaze, I will also go to Skyline Beauty Supply or Polish Pick to order polishes.

This is OPI Espresso Your Style.

It's a beautiful rich brown. I don't know how OPI does this, but you put the first coat on and it looks meh, not good coverage, not pretty, and then you put the second coat on and all kinds of magic happens.

This is 2 coats, and it's a super pretty polish! Perfect for fall/winter (or whenever you want to wear it, lol).

OPI is a great mainstream brand, and you can find them pretty inexpensively.
