Mainstream Mani Monday- Orly Charged Up

I like Orly as a brand, they have generally great polishes, but though I liked the end result of this, the formula was soooooo watery!

This was 3 hard to control coats.

It's a pretty blurple color, and I thought it would end up a streaky mess because of the formula, but it didn't, so I was glad, lol. I don't mind doing 3 coats if it ends up looking good.

In the closeup up can see it looks kind of like a crelly polish, with that kind of juicy look that jelly polishes have, with the opacity of a cream.

I got this on clearance at Sally's, and if you're not a beginner and can really control a polish I'd get it (if it's on clearance!). If you're a newbie, skip it! It's tough to work with.

Mainstream Mani Monday- Finger Paints Palette of Perfection

When I was first getting into nail polish, I spent a lot of time at Sally's Beauty Supply. I found this Finger Paints polish in a clearance rack, but had never tried it.  It's a burgundy glass fleck polish.

Isn't this beautiful?!?!  This was 2 super easy coats.  This would be an amazing fall polish.

This is such a rich polish, the color is absolutely stunning.

I haven't tried any other Finger Paints polishes, but this is a great polish and I would definitely try more!

Mainstream Mani Monday- Morgan Taylor Little Misfit

This is a polish from 2014 that I picked up on sale at a JC Penney's salon!  And it looks terrible on me, lol.

It was a watery formula, but managable. I didn't think to put this over black undies, so this is 3 coats, but it got opaque in 3.  It's a green/gray/lavender shift, and it was so hard to photograph!

It was a little streaky, but the majority of them went away when it dried.  In this close up you can kind of see them. It wasn't at all bad irl, though.

You can also see a little more of the purple in this.

Here's one more picture, to try to show more of the shift.  It is a cool polish, but I just don't think this looks good on me.

Mainstream Mani Monday- Seche Intrepid

I must have ALL.THE.HOT.PINK.POLISH. Alllll of it. I saw this at Sally's during one of their half off sales- so I actually got this for $1.85!   I couldn't get the sticker off easily and didn't want to break a nail, LOL

This is GORGEOUS! 2 coats! And it went on like a dream.

I am bringing this to the salon next time I get a pedi, I think it will be gorgeous on my toes!

In this close up you can kind of see the shimmer a little better- it kind of has a bluish look to it in some lights, which I love.

I don't know if Sally's carries this brand anymore, I have one more I got during the clearance that I have to try, but I really really love this polish, it's going to be in my Top Mainstream Polish for 2018 for sure!

Mainstream Mani Monday- Kiko 480 Pearly Brass

I got a bunch of Kiko polishes ages ago (like 2015) when they had a sale, and they were only $1!  I have only worn one of them, and I wasn't a fan of the formula- it totally chipped on me, which never happens-  so I hadn't tried one for awhile until I tried this.  And this one was great!

This was 2 coats. And I thought this particular color didn't make my hands look like lobster hands, which golds and yellows can definitely do!

I like the pearly finish of this, and though I'm not into the more neutral colors, I did like this one.

 The only thing I don't love about Kiko is they name their polishes numbers, and you have to look online to see what the actual name is. But oh well, lol

Mainstream Mani Monday- Sally Hansen Pinch of Punch

I got a bunch of polishes from a neighborhood Facebook page, and this was one of them. I love a good pink polish, and this was really good!

It's just a basic medium pink cream, but the formula was really great on this! Easy 2 coats.

In the close up, you see a couple bubbles- that was me shaking my top coat before putting it on, lol, not the polish.

One more for good luck! LOL

Mainstream Mani Monday- Covergirl Bombshell

I found this in a destash- I'd seen it on someone and put it on my lemming list, and then one day I saw it and pounced on it!

It's a super hot pink kind of a glass fleck polish, it's really pretty.

Here it is a little closer up.

I did 3 thin coats to deepen up the color. It was easy to apply, and easy to do thin coats.











One more just because hot pink polishes are so gorgeous!

I have no idea how old this- at least 2014, if not earlier. Another thing I love about nail polish- it lasts forever (usually!!!).

Mainstream Mani Monday- unnamed orange Color Club

Once time I got a bunch of polishes just off a neighborhood Facebook page, and there was this random orange Color Club with no name.

It's a super bright jelly polish- it really needs thinning, which I did a little bit of, but not a lot. It was a little clumpy, but I worked with it. The weird spot on my pointer finger is a reflection from my lights.

This is a fun squishy polish, great for summer!

I like Color Club polishes, especially their Halo Hues, and though this was chunky, and a little weird, it still was a fun polish!

Mainstream Mani Monday- Sinful Shine Prosecco

I am not really a neutral lover, and this did not change my mind, lol.  It's an easy formula to work with, if I had a job interview or needed a neutral polish for some reason, this isn't a bad one....

...but it does give me lobster hands. Moreso in pictures than irl, but enough. This is why I'm not a super fan of neutrals, it's hard to find ones that don't make me look like I have lobster hands.

Here's a macro- you can see the little flakie things that give this polish the shimmer.

Again, formula nothing to complain about, 2 coats and done, and a good neutral neutral, lol.  I guess my polish personality is just more bright and glittery, not neutral! LOL

Mainstream Mani Monday- OPI In the Cable Carpool Lane

This is soooo pretty in the bottle, soooo streaky on the nail!

It's a deep red/burgundy- I wouldn't say oxblood, I consider oxblood to be a darker color, but a pretty deep red - but man, super streaky!!

This is 3 thin coats, still not great.

Some of what you see is lights reflecting off my nails, so I did a macro which shows the streakiness. 

You can see here the lighter spots- that's the streakiness. 

Oh well, you can't win them all. Pretty color, icky formula.

Mainstream Mani Monday- Revlon Untamed

This is a cool polish- it was all the rage on Makeup Alley a couple years ago, I think I found it at Walgreens or some drug store, and had it untried.

It was a little bit chunky, but good at 2 coats.  It wasn't hard to manipulate the formula, and it was easy to remove in my scrubby tub.

This picture is in the sunlight.

You can see it's a really pretty polish, if you're into wearing things seasonally, I'd say perfect for fall! I personally wear whatever I want whenever I feel like it, lol.

Mainstream Mani Monday- China Glaze UV Meant to Be

This is China Glaze UV Meant to Be, a lighter, bright blue cream from the 2015 Summer Electric Nights collection.

It's a great color, and I didn't have any staining.

It was a weird formula, kind of watery almost on first coat, but it evened out nicely on the second coat (I wasn't sure it would, tbh!). Creams are scary to me, lol, but this one was really easy to work with. Since it was runny, I did have to watch it didn't pool on the side of my nail.

If you see this at Sally's, or somewhere where it's cheap, I highly recommend picking it up!

Mainstream Mani Monday- OPI Wild West Wild Berry

I have no idea where this polish came from and why I have it! This is OPIs Wild West Wild Berry, from their 1999 Wild West collection.  I had to add a bunch of thinner to it, so the formula was kind of lumpy in the beginning, lol.

It's a pretty mid tone pink with shimmer- but not frosty at all. It's a nice color, and I like it on my skin tone.

It did bring out some ridges in my nails I didn't know I had, lol. I think that was really just the formula.


It was good in 2 coats, and the top coat brought out the shimmer in the polish.





Here's an up close shot where you can really see the ridges, that I swear don't exist irl!

I doubt you can find this polish in the wild- I did find it on ebay for $12.99.

Mainstream Mani Monday OPI DS Indulgence

Kickin' it Old School- an OPI! A DS OPI!!  DS is their Designer Series (they have the silver caps).

This is a beautiful red-orange polish. I got this in a Skyline Beauty sale, all their older OPIs were $3. So I got a ton, and this was one of them.



It was opaque in 2-3 coats. I really like this polish, especially for fall.

Mainstream Mani Monday- China Glaze Treble Maker

This is China Glaze's Treble Maker, from the 2015 Electric Nights collection.

I love this green! And the formula was really good- kind of squishy, though it's not a jelly or a crelly really.

Here's a super close up- hopefully you can see the squishiness, lol.

I did 2 coats- the first was a little patchy, but the second coat fixed that right up- I did do a thicker second coat.

Isn't this a great green polish? This is what I would have worn for St. Patrick's Day, if I had had time to do a St. Patrick's Day mani. I had plans to do one, but time got away from me.  So here it is,  and I highly recommend it!
